Dublin Canals Action Day

In light of government announcements regarding Covid-19 was have taken the precautionary step of postponing the 2020 Dublin Canals Action Day.

As we are hoping to tie in with the Dublin Community Clean Up day we have as yet to confirm a new date but will update you as soon as we can.
In the meantime please do keep watch over our lovely canals. If we all pick just one or two pieces of litter each when out and about we can make a big difference. Don’t forget to wash your hands afterwards!

We will see you back on the banks very soon 🙂

A huge thank you to all who joined us for Dublin Canals Action Day 2019!

The day was a huge success with the canal sparkling from Inchicore on the Grand canal all the way to the Liffey and up through the Royal canal out to Clonsilla. A huge amount of waste was taken from our waterways by a hardy crew of 300+ volunteers. Thank you so much for showing your canals and your city such love.

For information on the groups that run regular clean ups on the canals throughout the year either scroll down or click on the location you prefer on Google maps here.

We will soon make contact with all 2019 subscribers with confirmed details of the 2020 Dublin Canals Action Day when we have all confirmed.

Thank you all, you are wonderful!

Dublin Clean Canals

The Dublin Clean Canals group is a collective of a number of local voluntary clean up groups along both of the canals running through Dublin.

With support from Dublin City and Fingal councils, Waterways Ireland and Clean Coasts amongst others the individual groups run clean-ups throughout the year within the city. The groups come together once a year to bring some focus to our much loved canals and run one large Action Day event.

For the second year running we will be delighted to be out this year as part of Dublin Community Clean Up Day. This amazing initiative last year saw hundreds of people take to the streets, mountains, and sea all across the county to #keepdublinbeautiful

What we do

The aim of this group is to promote the use of both of Dublin’s beautiful canals to their fullest potential as amenities and safe areas for wildlife right through the city.

To this end regular volunteer clean ups are organised throughout the year and at an as yet to be confirmed date we will hold our fifth ever group clean up, Dublin Canals Action Day.

Keep an eye out for details!
